New Hire Safety Training

TT&S offers our member companies the benefit of jumpstarting safety training for new employees.

Newly hired employees are required to be introduced to the safety hazards inherent in their job title, industry and location. This 2-day class will meet the OSHA requirements for new employee orientation and reduce the risk of injury for those that are unfamiliar with their new job. Those employees hired with experience and certifiable coverage can reduce class time and receive credit for that experience. Some classes are not required for office workers and they can complete all required courses in Day 1.

Day 1 includes the following:

  • Intro to Telecom
  • CPR/First Aid
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • HazCom/GHS
  • Defensive Driving (certification is a separate course)
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Emergency Plans
  • Harmful Environments -- Plants-Animals-Insects
  • Slips/Trips/Falls/Lifting

Day 2 includes the following:

  • Ladder Inspections and Certifications
  • Asbestos/Silica Dust
  • Electrical Hazards
  • Bonding and Grounding
  • Confined Spaces/Manholes
  • Trenching and Shoring
  • Work Area Protection/Traffic Safety
  • Underground/Overhead Lines
  • Rubber Insulating Equipment/Storage Batteries
  • Personal Protection Equipment
  • Tree Trimming/Brush Cutting
